Leighton Buzzard U13 mixed tournament - WINNERS

Aylesbury's U13's travelled to Leighton Buzzard on a very wet and cold Sunday morning for a mixed tournament. Despite the weather, the team's confidence and spirits were high. These proved to be well founded when they won their first game against Luton 2's 6 - 0, the second game against Bedford 1's was much tougher but Aylesbury took the victory by 1 goal. The 3rd and 4th games against Leighton Buzzard 1's and Milton Keynes 2's were again quite comfortable victories at 3 and 5 nil leaving Aylesbury the only team with a clean sheet in the pool stage. Despite a slow start in their semi, Aylesbury soon took command beating Luton 1's 4 -0. The final was a rematch of the Bedford game. The game was really exciting end to end play - Aylesbury took the lead but Bedford put the first and only goal of the day past keeper Annie Adams, Aylesbury kept their cool and scored one more to take first place in the tournament. Chris McIntyre scored 10 goals, Meghan Howitt 4, Jack Sloan 3 and, Lauren Thomson 1. An excellent team victory.
