Southgate 1 - 6 Aylesbury
Aylesbury travelled to Southgate expecting a tough game having suffered defeat at their hands only last week but knowing they had a good team. Right from the first whistle Aylesbury took charge of the game and, although Southgate fought hard in the midfield, the home team rarely looked like threatening the Aylesbury keeper. The front team of Jacques Tasker, Chris McIntyre and, George Ellison worked well and together set Jacques up for a hat trick before half time. After the break Southgate came out more organised, Aylesbury found it harder to push through their defence and the Southgate attacks were more effective. Nonetheless, Jacques Tasker increased Aylesbury's lead with his 4th and George Ellison struck home an excellent shot for his first. Chris McIntyre was unlucky not to make on to the score sheet when he flicked a short corner attempt just over the bar. Southgate gained themselves a consolation goal when stand in keeper Josh Penn lost sight of the ball after an initial save and the ball trickled over the line. George Ellison concluded the scoring shortly after for his second.
Teamsheet: Josh Penn, Richard Anley, Dominic Kelsey, Chris McIntyre, Aaron Millburn, Jack Pickering, Thomas Richards, Oliver Riggs, George Ellison, Jack Sloan, Jacques Tasker, Charlie Fowler.

CHAMPION PERFORMANCE
Two Aylesbury under 10 sides travelled the short distance to the Bicester tournament this weekend. The Aylesbury "A" side started their pool games with a 1-0 victory over the City of Oxford club with Robyn Cumberland scoring the decisive goal. The second game saw Aylesbury have to deal with some serious pressure from Oxford Hawks before they began to gain the advantage and once again Robyn scored the only goal of a thrilling game. Wallingford were the next opponents for an ever increasingly confident Aylesbury side and they team ran out comfortable winners 2-0 with goals by Mercedes Pascale and Cliodhna McKibbin. The next pool game saw Banbury cause the Aylesbury defence some problems but great play by Alex Elliott, Phoebe Teychenne and James Moore and under used goalkeeper Emily Taylor kept the run of clean sheets intact, Robyn then settled the match 1-0 for Aylesbury following a fine move. The final pool game saw Aylesbury take on their hosts and another strong performance resulted in Robyn and Mercedes making it a 2-0 win.
Aylesbury's B first game was against City of Oxford; they started slow but they pushed City back into their half and slowly began to pass the ball around with growing confidence. The first goal came from a defensive move with Charlie Adams linking up with Emily Taylor and Ellie Kiely, who set up Alice Rolfe to put the ball into the net. The second goal again came from a break from the defence. Great passing between Jack Pearce and Daniel Bedwell gave Daniel the chance to strike for goal. The keeper made an initial save but again Alice was in the right place to push the ball past the stranded keeper to get her second goal. Aylesbury won 2-0.
Aylesbury carried on their winning ways with a 3-0 win over Oxford Hawks, 1-0 win over Wallingford, 2-0 win over Banbury and a final group win over Thame 2-0. They all owe a lot to keeper Jess Potts who had a fantastic game in goal.
Aylesbury B got to the final unbeaten and did not concede a single goal.
Having come through their pools unbeaten the Aylesbury "A's" meet their "B" team in the final, both teams continued to play spectacular hockey and both sides fully justified their places in the final. Eventually a couple of moments of fine team play saw Alex Elliott and Robyn both scoring to give the "A's" a 2-0 victory.
The "A" team were: Robyn Cumberland, Mia Davison, Alex Elliott, Cliodhna McKibbin, James Moore, Mercedes Pascale, Emily Taylor and Phoebe Teychenne.
Aylesbury B's were made up of Jess Potts, Ellie Kiely, Alice Rolf, Emily Taylor, Charlie Adams, Jack Pearse, Nella Charlton-Jones and Daniel Bedwell.

ALMOST THE CLEAN SWEEP!
The Aylesbury under 12's tried to complete a clean sweep of wins for Aylesbury at the Bicester tournament on Sunday. In a group that would ultimately produce a tight finish and the tournament winners the Aylesbury team beat local rivals Thame with an Aaron Baker goal. Host Bicester provided the second opponents and despite lots of pressure Aylesbury were unable to break the hosts defence and the game ended in a draw. Banbury next for the team and again Aylesbury dominated the game but this time goals from James Taylor and William Taylor saw them record a 2-0 victory. Aylesbury then took on Wallingford and another tight game saw both teams produce some great hockey but no goals. The last group game saw Aylesbury defeat the Oxford Hawks by 1-0 with Eleanor Hope scoring, but despite not conceding a goal and remaining unbeaten the Aylesbury team missed out on a place in the final to eventual winners Wallingford on goals scored.
The Aylesbury squad were: Joel Arul, Aaron Baker, Craig Bond, Erin Coulter, William Davison, Eleanor Hope, Lucy Miller, James Taylor, William Taylor and Scarlett Slaymaker.
