U14 Boys
Aylesbury: 3 - Eastcote: 1
Aylesbury's U14 boys were at home for their last league game of the season. The two teams were well match for ability and it was clear it would be a close game. Aylesbury started well and gained more possession putting the Eastcote defence under pressure. Eastcote responded well and the keeper made some excellent saves until finally a cross from Chris McIntyre was slotted away by Jacques Tasker for the lead.
After the break Eastcote fought back and equalised from a short corner early on. The play moved from end to end; Aylesbury had more chances but again the Eastcote keeper denied them. Aylesbury had a number of short corners without result at first but eventually after a number of scrambled hits, Dominic Whaler managed to tap the ball away to regain the lead. The icing on the cake came when Chris McIntyre broke away and beat the keeper for an excellent solo goal.
Teamsheet: Craig Bond (GK), Richard Anley, Charlie Fowler, Josh Penn, Oli Lum, Chris McIntyre, Jack Sloan, Jacques Tasker, Dominic Whaler, Thomas Richards, Jack Pickering, James Wilson.
Under 10s Tournaments
(teams consisted of players all 8 and under)
Following the Under 8s success at the Bicester tournament last week where they were unbeaten, they faced up to a much sterner test this week against a selection of Under 10s teams from Wycombe, Tring and Gerrards Cross.
Aylesbury 1 started a little slowly in their first match against a very good Gerrards Cross team, but as soon as they got over their first match nerves there was no stopping them. They went on to win further games beating Tring and Wycombe. Their game play and passing was much admired by the watching crowd as the team concentrated on using the full width of the pitch. A superb effort from the team all round. Team: Weston, Hassal, Northcott, Welsh, Walker, Johnson.
Aylesbury 2 had a good start to their tournament beating Tring 1-0 in their opening match. Aylesbury 2 faded away a little in their second game. But they put in a fantastic performance in their 3rd game, losing 3-1 but really showing some great determination in defence and attack. Aylesbury finished off with a further 2 wins against Wycombe and Tring to round off a great day. Team: Collins, Pascal, Fitzwalter, Kiely, Riggs, Heale.
