Saturday 26th September 2009
The 2009-10 season began in earnest this weekend with all four of Aylesbury's ladies hockey teams in league action. Having had a really successful season last year and several of the teams gaining promotion, the question will be whether the ladies teams can maintain this success.
The Ladies 1st XI maintain a mid-table spot in the Trysports Premier 2 league following a good 3-0 win over Banbury 2nds.
The 2nd XI had their first league game against Tring 1st. The game finished as a 1-1 draw.
The 3rd XI continued their winning streak with yet another win, this time against Henley 4th with the score line finishing 3-1. The team played really well in the first half, with some great passing movements. They were unlucky to concede a goal later in the second half. The team are now placed 2nd in the league with only a one point goal difference keeping them off the top spot.
The 4th XI made their debut to Division 5 of the Trysports League but unfortunately lost their first league game 8-0 away at Thame. However, commitment shown by players on Saturday will hold them in good stead for the rest of the season.
