Ladies 1st XI

Aylesbury Ladies 1st XI: 4 - Oxford Hawks: 2

The Ladies 1st XI continued their winning streak with yet another confident performance, this week against Oxford Hawks. A hat-trick from forward Tash James helped Aylesbury grasp another three points. Final score was 4-2 and this sees Aylesbury sit at the top of the Trysports Premier 2 League on goal difference. But with all the top teams winning, and second position team Wokingham, who have a game in hand, there’s not much between the teams. There is no room for errors and Aylesbury will need to work hard to keep others at bay.

Ladies 2nd XI

Aylesbury Ladies 2nd XI: 2 - St Albans 4: 2

The Ladies 2nd XI were robbed of a win against St Albans 4 with a 2-2 draw. Goals from Evie Plumb and debutant Meghan Howitt saw Aylesbury take the lead. Some great work by the midfield, in particular, Emily Davitt, allowed Aylesbury to keep attacking. Plumb had a number of opportunities but the St Albans keeper was quick to react. St Albans pulled one back in the second half. Although the teams were evenly matched, a poor refereeing decision allowed St Albans to score from a free hit outside the penalty area to get the equalizer. Aylesbury will be disappointed to come away with just a point but there will be opportunity to build on some good, confidence building results recently when Aylesbury play the team at the bottom of the table.

Ladies 3rd XI

Aylesbury Ladies 3rd XI: 3 - City of Oxford: 0

The Ladies 3rd XI started off slowly on Saturday in the driving rain at Meadowcroft against City of Oxford. The midfield managed to string passes together and start feeding the forwards. Aylesbury continued to trouble the Oxford defence with attacking runs down the wing. A couple of breaks from City of Oxford could have created problems for Aylesbury but the ever reliant partnership of Anley and Dean at the back helped keep another clean sheet. At half-time the game was evenly poised at nil-nil.

Aylesbury came back strong in the second half, with some great passing switching the ball on many occasions from left to right to go up the wing for yet another attempt on goal. A solid and strong performance by the entire team saw the 3rd XI bring home 3 well deserved points. The final score was 3-0 and the team now sit in fourth position. Next week, another tough match awaits as Aylesbury visit the team above them.
