Ladies 1st XI (promoted!)

Aylesbury Ladies 1st XI: 3 - Maidenhead 3rds: 0

Aylesbury Ladies 1st XI won an important match this weekend helping to secure them promotion as the season draws to a close. The game against rivals Maidenhead was as always, well matched and proved hard work for both sides, ending the first half on a draw of 0-0. Tiz Brookes and Linda Kynaston showed great defensive team work at the back, made solid by the keeper Tash Smith. After a motivating half time team talk, Aylesbury started the second half strongly, when top scorer Tash James self passed from the centre and proceeded to score shortly after, with help from Lucy Drane. Eliza Frith and Hannah Piggot worked hard down the right playing some really good balls to each other, and then onto the post where Charly Smith deflected the ball into the back of the net. Young attacker Josie Hassal made some tactful runs on the right, and went on to help Tash James, who hit the ball in hard at the bottom corner scoring Aylesbury's third and final goal.

Ladies 3rd XI

Aylesbury Ladies 3rd XI: 3 - Amersham & Chalfont: 2

Aylesbury Ladies 3rd XI faced a tough match against Amersham & Chalfont this Saturday and scrapped through with victory. Aylesbury found themselves having to defend for most of the first half and struggled to maintain possession. Just seconds before the half-time whistle, Amersham & Chalfont deservedly took the lead. But Aylesbury came out stronger in the second half and testing runs by Claire Heale and Meghan Howitt started to trouble the opposition. With the team getting back into their stride and starting to move the ball around more confidently, they were rewarded with goals by Liz Brookes, Meghan Howitt and Evie Plumb. Aylesbury will be relieved with managing to get 3 points through their sheer hard work and determination and return to fourth position in the league.
