Men's 2nd XI

Aylesbury 2nds XI: 1 - Gerrards Cross: 4

The 2nd XI lost away at Gerrards Cross this weekend and with it, the hope of promotion. With the opposition sitting towards the bottom of the table, there was real opportunity to grab a vital three points. Unfortunately with only one game remaining, the 4-1 loss means that Aylesbury are now playing for pride and their desire to hold 4th position. It has been one of those seasons for the 2nd XI where they have won the tough matches but then failed to capitalize against weaker opposition. But this should give the team a good foundation n which to build when they return next season.

Men's 4th XI

Aylesbury 4th XI: 1 - Bracknell 3rd XI: 3

With only one game remaining, Aylesbury 4ths XI visited Bracknell on Saturday with a changed and youthful team with the intention of trying to finish midway in the league table. Being clear of the danger zone, Aylesbury went to enjoy the game and hoped that 3 points would result.

But Aylesbury started the game with little confidence and Bracknell broke the deadlock from a rebound off the post that keeper, Dave Bryant, had no chance of stopping. Aylesbury played well for the remainder of the first half with some good passing movement and held Bracknell at bay; slowly growing in confidence. The first half ended with Bracknell being 1-0 up.

It was much of the same in the second half until again Bracknell managed to grab their second. Aylesbury pushed forward to get back into the game and within minutes, they were awarded a penalty corner. A well worked corner between Ollie Venn and Chris McIntyre gave Venn the chance to get one back for Aylesbury. Aylesbury continued to push forward but the equaliser just would not come. Unfortunately a Bracknell counter attack gave them their third goal. It finished 3-1 to Bracknell but Aylesbury will feel that the score doesn't reflect the game and will be pleased with their performance.

Team: Richard Anley, Dave Bryant, Charlie Fowler, Jerry Horwood, Dan Innes, Sam Kaye, Richard Locke, Chris McIntyre, Josh Penn, Adam Spragg, Ollie Venn, Tim Wodzynski.
