Leicester also lost games…..we can still do it

Aylesbury welcomed Oxford to RAF Halton. Captain Best gave an inspirational, yet non-coherent, team talk and the team were raring to go. The main problem was, Hunter and Atcheson clearly didn’t listen and proceeded to gift Oxford the opening goal within 20 seconds (which is only just slightly quicker than Kipper’s performance on a Sunday night).

Hunter, having clearly lost his yard of pace from the previous week (which, as most people would know, he can’t afford to do) was, to put it politely ‘having a Kipper’ of a performance and was quite frankly woeful - Stevie Wonder would have been more effective in his place. Aylesbury proceeded to concede another three goals and were under the cosh at 4-0 down going into the break. Paul ‘I do what I want in the bath Rosalie’ Gregory was a very angry man (rumour has it he was still seething at not being able to find a KFC at half time last week) and offered out Will ‘clown feet’ Fulwood but due to Gregory’s lack of fitness, he couldn’t be bothered to walk over to Fulwood to actually start something.

Ben ‘Sam doesn’t love me though’ Ireson, Atcheson and Mark ‘King of Dwarfs’ Bowes defended well in the second half (although a suggestion would be to also defend well for the first half, just a small tip). Oli H was having another brilliant game showing his real class and created a goal out of nothing for Theo ‘potentially posher than Ireson’ Muth. Austin Greenlee also showed how deadly he is from 2 yards and actually hit the ball rather than air shooting it like normal to pull another goal back for Aylesbury. Could this be Aylesbury’s Istanbul Champions League moment……..the answer was, er, no. The game ended 4-2.

The real performance came on Saturday night though. The strong quintet of Macintyre, Best, Ireson, Kipper and Lindars showed their real class at pub golf. Aylesbury will take this confidence going into next week’s trip versus Chiswick hoping that Chiswick decide to play us at pub golf instead of hockey.
