Following a disappointing result the previous week, Aylesbury went into the match looking for a positive result against a youthful side vying with Aylesbury to put pressure on the top teams in the division. Aylesbury stated the game particularly strongly, and unlike previous weeks not only created a number of good chances, but were also clinical in front of goal. Good finishes from Harrington, Hinge and How putting Aylesbury 3-1 up at the interval, with Aylesbury firmly in control. However, Wallingford clearly took the opportunity to regroup at half time, and as the second half progressed Wallingford become the more dominant force, with their youth in midfield getting the better of Aylesbury’s experienced but aging legs. Eventual Aylesbury gave into the pressure with Wallingford converting a short corner, before clinching a draw on the break. Aylesbury were disappointed with the result but it was definitely a game of two halves!
