In a first versus third clash, Aylesbury faced the ever physical side of Witney who are unbeaten this season.
Aylesbury started well and created a number of opportunities but failed to score in the opening 20 minutes. Aylesbury conceded two quick fire goals following slack defending and poor play from Paul Gregory and Aylesbury found themselves 2 nil down at half time. In the second half, Witney further extended their advantage with a well taken goal. Aylesbury battled on and were rewarded with a consolation goal by top scorer Gregory who atoned for his earlier poor play. Man of the match went to Oli Patterson.
Credit to Aylesbury who kept their discipline throughout the game and received no cards versus Witney players receiving 5 yellow and green cards throughout for poor challenges or back chat to umpires.
Aylesbury have a week off next week and then face West Hampstead the following week.
