Aylesbury welcomed Banbury to RAF Halton. Aylesbury were looking to kick start their 2018 with a first win. With a strong side, Aylesbury started well and were soon in front from a fine strike from midfielder Oli Patterson. Man of the match Ben Lindars was dominating the midfield and creating many opportunities for the Aylesbury forwards which resulted in Matt Hinge rifling a flick low in to the bottom corner to give Aylesbury a 2 nil lead. Just before half time, defender Graham Thwaites lost concentration and gifted Banbury a goal following a poor pass. At half time the score was 2-1.
Aylesbury kept up the pressure in the second half and a fine move started by Stu Gray led to James Gilbert finishing to make the score 3-1. Aylesbury closed out the game to secure all 3 points following a ruthless performance.
Next week, Aylesbury travel to Oxford.
