The men’s 1s welcomed Oxford Hawks to RAF Halton in a key game. Aylesbury once again started poorly and conceded in the opening few minutes following slack marking by the Aylesbury defence. This galvanised Aylesbury who hit straight back following a fine penalty corner flick from Will Fullwood. Aylesbury then went 2-1 ahead following an Oli Hassell Strike. Hawks equalised soon before half time to leave the scores 2 all going into he break.
In the second half Aylesbury created a number of chances and were rewarded with Paul Gregory goal. With only 5 minutes remaining, Aylesbury went 4-1 up following a goal from James Gilbert. Unfortunately the wheels then came off from Aylesbury and Hawks scored two quick-fire goals to leave the final score 4 all. This very much felt like a game Aylesbury let slip. Special mention goes to 14 year old Tom Blowfield on his first team debut who was superb in the Aylesbury goal. Next week Aylesbury travel to top of the table Witney.
