Men’s 1XI v Milton Keynes

The men’s 1s travelled to local rivals Milton Keynes in a crucial game at the top of the division. Aylesbury were bolstered by the return of midfielder Oli Hassell and Rory Butwell. Aylesbury started the better and created a number of opportunities but failed to get passed the experienced Milton Keynes goalkeeper. Aylesbury eventually broke the deadlock following good work by Chris Macintyre who crossed the ball for Jorell Pascal to pass into the open net. Aylesbury went into half time 1 goal to the good.

Milton Keynes came out fight in in the second half and had a number of penalty corner opportunities that were rebuffed by Aylesbury defence and man of the match Tom Blowfield. Aylesbury further stretched their lead from top scorer Ebsworth following a cool finish in the bottom corner. In the last 5 minutes midfielder Ben Lindars scored Aylesbury’s third goal following fine work from Christian Collins to give Aylesbury a 3 nil victory to keep them at the top of the table.

Next week Aylesbury entertain second place Oxford at RAF Halton.
