The men’s 1XI welcomed Wallingford who were sitting fourth in the league table. Aylesbury were in much need of a victory following three straight defeats. With a new formation, Aylesbury took time to get up to speed and had to call on keeper Dave Skinner to make a number of saves in the first 20 minutes. Aylesbury soon grew into the game and went 1 nil up following an Austin Greenlee goal from a Tim Atcheson pass. Aylesbury went into the half time break fortunate to be 1 nil up.
In the second half, Wallingford came out firing and were soon back on level terms following a goal from a short corner. This galvanised Aylesbury who scored three quickfire goals through Will Ebsworth, Ollie Patterson and Chris McIntyre to go 4-1 up with 5 minutes remaining. To their credit, Wallingford continued fighting until the end and pulled a goal back through a fine reverse stick strike. The game ended 4-2 to Aylesbury who moved up to 6th in the table.
