Mens 3s faced Wooton today folllowing a draw and a loss in their first games of the season. Given that this league seems to be very open, there was every chance of getting a first win in what feels like a full season of playing and so it came to pass. Aylesbury opened their account when Steve Best intercepted a Wooton 16 and played Phill Collins in to put past the Wooton keeper at the far post. Charlie Mclaughlin got the second , set up by Phill Collins before Steve Best got the 3rd to take Aylesbury into half time at 3-0 up. Aylesbury struggled a bit to maintain momentum in the second half, allowing Wooton to get a goal back before Steve Best added his second and our 4th to make the game safe. Plenty of chances were squandered but a win is a win. Jamie Jennings excelled this week to earn Man of the Match. Banbury away next week.
