Aylesbury & Tring Kites v Wycombe

Today Aylesbury and Tring kites 4s played Wycombe 5s at Halton.

Yes we WON 1 - 0 wooooooooo!!!! Our first win this season.

The story goes i couldnt make it as my horse was racing but i managed to get back for some of the 2nd half to help. Our other Tring Captain is injured.

So i handed the captaincy over to Jamie Jennings. Who was very strong. On jamie s suggestion we aqquired the same formation that our 3s have been using. After a chat between myself and jamie midweek. We had our team positions sorted.

This week we started with grit and determination from the word go. Our midfield was on a rotational format.

We had one sub so anyone that was tied could have a breather.

We maintained our passing skills and everyone had time on the ball to think where to pass. Switching it from side to side. Esp James Morton Phill horrocks and Paul Owen who have come on throughout the season.

Everyone played with grit and put a good shift in to win

This tactic allowed Jamie to control things from the back and freed Gary Abel to do what he does best and sweep from the back.

Oh yeah nearly forgot our goal ?. From what i was told it come late in the 1st half. It came out from a breakaway. Edmund ( Tring ) found himself one on one with the goal keeper near the top of the D. He managed to pivot it pass the goal keeper and it slowly trickled over the line.

The last 5mins or so was nailbiting. As Wycombe had some short corners. But our defence held steady and blocked out any opportunity for Wycombe to score.

Our midfield sprinted back with strength to help.

I confess i got a lil carried away towards the end. Pacing up and down shouting.

Then the whistle went and we did it ?????
