Aylesbury and Tring Kites had a very enjoyable game away againist Eastcote.
The game was so evenly matched, end to end stuff. Qauilty of passes from both teams were great. 1st half we worked well as a team, communicating with one another. Our backline had alot of work to do. We had to be flexible in our marking, which we did. Both teams were canceling out each others attacks.
0 - 0 into half time. Half time talk was about keeping up our great teamwork of passes and attacks down the wings. But mainly keeping our focus and not letting our shape slip.
2nd half saw us go 1 - 0 up in the 1st quarter with a lovely cross across their goal by a Tring player. For Tim Brendt to recieve it waist hieght as he tilted his stick to swipe in the right bottom hand corner.
As the 2nd quarter approached we got a bit rattled and lost our heads thus losing our shape. As we were increasing the speed of our hockey too much. We needed to slow it down and keep it simple. Because of this they caught us out on a counter attack by one of their wingers who attacked down the wing to score.
Leaving the result a draw of 1 - 1.
It was a really even game and highly enjoyable. Very hard to determine Man of the match as every player played their specific role well, a team effort.
My opinion man of the match goes to the whole team if thats possible. ?
Roll on Wotton next week!! ??
