Aylesbury & Tring Kites v Wycombe

Kites took on Wycombe 6 today in rather wet conditions at AVA. We lost 2-0 but we only had 10 men.

With the conditions and only 10 men we gave Wycombe 6 a hard test for their win.

We pressed alot into their half and pressed their defence. The first 20mins of the game we started rather quiet and slow. Maybe the rain and cold was getting into our bones?‍♂️?.

But our passing was great and positioning in square formation to knock the ball down the pitch well. Althou only having 10 men we had to be clever in our positioning drawing the oppo away to create space for ourselves.

We had numerous chances on the goal but were just outnumbered with one less player. My heart did skip a beat when an opportunity came close for me to have a go at goal in the 2nd half. But the ball was just a yard to far away, putting me at a sharp angle if i had reached the ball to try for goal.

Our back 4 was very effective in canceling out alot of Wycombe's attacks. And top marks to Marc Scott for his debut who was very effective in right back ?, reading the game well.

As I mentioned it was one player too short that made the difference, the result would of been alot closer.

Each Wycombe goal came in each half which was very well worked on their attack, outnumbering us.

After the match the Wycombe goalie didn't realise we were only 10 men. Which shows we played as if we were 11.
