Aylesbury ladies 1 travelled away this weekend for a tough clash against third place, South Berkshire. Aylesbury started the game well and after 9 minuets, a cleverly worked ball into the D fell to debutant, Penny Morton, who slotted away her first goal for the team. South Berks reacted and stepped up through the gears, exposing gaps in the Aylesbury defence scoring a total of 4 goals, putting Aylesbury on the back foot going into the second half. The reds started well after the interval, winning individual battles and showing a bit more grit and determination across the pitch. Another goal from South Berks was matched by the away team after a well worked run from Kelly Morgan crossed the ball across the face of goal for Caitlin Ralls to tap home on the back post. The game finished 5-2 leaving Aylesbury with some key areas of focus looking ahead to next week's tie at home to Reading.
POM goes to Inge Drotske for a gutsy performance throughout, winning individual battles and showing determination all the way to the final whistle. ? ?
