Aylesbury 1s had a grudge match against South Berks ladies 1s this week after losing 2-1 at their home turf last year.
Ays started with a high tempo, pressing the opposition right from their PB and kept the ball within their half. A PC was awarded to Ays within 10 mins of play after continuous attacks around the opposition’s D. Elisa Woodford converted the PC with a well worked drag flick. Despite the home side’s dominance, the game remained 1-0 at half time.
In the second half, Ays retained the attacking aggression and finally managed to score their second goal with a slot in by Olivia Robson.
The game finished at 2-0 to Ays.
At the pre-match team talk, coach Ben Woodford, gave us a target to obtain as many PCs as possible. We managed 8 and only converting 1........looks like this week’s training will be on PC practice ???
POM: Meg Chapple for the second consecutive week.
DOD: also Meg for her sliding skills and nearly taking out a player in the process!
