Aylesbury ladies 1s had an away derby match against Thame 1s today

Aylesbury ladies 1s had an away derby match against Thame 1s today. It was a poor start from the away team, where we had to defend solidly for a good 10 mins before we stepped up and managed to get the ball out of our defensive half. Ays won a PC corner shortly after. Thame’s GK saved a well rehearsed routine but unfortunately for her, it was slotted in from a rebound ball by Angela Dickson. Ays continued with their pace of attack and a well worked ball from Elisa Woodford at the back of the baseline saw her find a square ball to Angela who didn’t hesitate to score, giving the away team a 2-0 lead in the first half.

In the second half, Thame came out strong and won a PC, Ays couldn’t keep the ball out making the score 2-1. This didn’t stop Ays’ determination and shortly after, Angela scored her third goal from great team work in the opponent’s D. It was end to end play for the last 10 minutes and Ays unfortunately conceded a second goal from another PC. The comeback was too late for the home team and the final whistle blew at 3-2.

A great result for the ladies 1s as we lost 2-0 to them at our home game. Also, it is my first hat trick (ever!), looks like you can teach old dogs new tricks! ?
