Ladies 1s played Oxford Hawks 4s at home

Ladies 1s played Oxford Hawks 4s at home in the second half of the season. It was going to be a difficult game drawing 3-3 at their home turf previously and with Ays 1s missing half their normal squad and coach! But thanks to Kelly Goulding, Laura Healey and Chloe Taylor for stepping up and helping out the team. And a shout out to Tori Bowles who was our replacement coach for the day.

In the first half, Ays dominated and had plenty of opportunity in the attacking D. The home team was rewarded after 10 mins of play with Angela Dickson scoring the first goal. The game remained 1-0 until the second half when after several PC attempts, Ays finally managed to get the second goal via a drilled short corner routine with Emily Penson’s well connected sweep. Shortly after, Lucy Robson got the third goal for the home team. Despite tired legs, Ays fought hard to the end and kept a clean sheet with the game ending 3-0.

Another good result for the ladies 1s.
