Ladies 2s faced a tough game today against Cheshunt 1s

Ladies 2s faced a tough game today against Cheshunt 1s who are top of the league and beat us 5-0 last time.

But we had an epic game and beat them this time 2-1 !!

It wasn’t going to be easy but even with only 11 players we weren’t going to let this get us.
The game was up and down both ends of the pitch throughout the game.

A straight strike short corner from Lucy Drane saw it verge close to the post where Claire was perfectly placed to get her stick to it for our 1-0 lead lasting till half time.

After a confident team talk by Nick Davey telling us we don’t always have to go forward we then started the second half as if it was 0-0.

About ten minutes in we had a quick break by doing a switch across the pitch then lovely passing in pairs down the pitch saw the ball get to Liz Brooks who dribbled it around the goalkeeper with a reverse stick strike into the goal. 2-0 ?

Simone James was defending a player who had made a quick break and went to tackle and her stick went flying out her hand so this saw her get a green card.

After many short corner oppportunities for Cheshunt they got one in.

But however our solid defending kept this score line and we beat them 2-1
Cheshunt were more then devstated at the end.

I literally could not have asked for anyone to give anymore today.
That’s why we have a team vote for Pom
Did- Simone for getting carded.

Shout out to Lucy Robson for coming to our rescue and being our 11th player.

Also for Nick Davey for being an awesome coach on sideline !
