3s took on their last match of the season this weekend, against Wynchwood. An away game with the potential for us to become CHAMPIONS. This was a big game. With 3 subs for the first time all season. This was nothing for the 5 that Wynchwood brought. With 30 players raring to go, we were ready to show what 3s were made of.

Within the first 10 minutes, some brilliant passing from Chloe to Liz in the D and a beautiful first goal was had. Wychwood weren’t to be slowed and made a quick break. With only Clare back and three attackers rapidly heading her way she valiantly fought, giving Tiz and Gill the chance to track back. An amazing save from the keeper returned the ball unfortunately straight back into a Wychwood stick. It lifted, but our outstanding captain was ready and with the skills of a cricketer, she smashed it out of the air and away!

Wychwood equalised in a short corner, despite a great fight from Phoebe in defence and a brilliant team block from Lucy and Ellie, using their strength to hold the opposition off. Not to be deterred, we soon were back attacking and a lovely cross from Sinchanna left Sophie able to slot in another goal.

At half time, it was 2-2. We knew what we needed to do. Wychwood came back with a fire but we matched it and with some amazing running from Ella, despite a dodgy ankle which like the machine she is, she powered through, we soon grabbed a short corner. Millie finally scored her long fought for goal! It was 3-2 we just had to hold on. In the final moments, Wychwood gained a short corner and equalised.

But that didnt matter because our awesome team were still CHAMPIONS OF THE LEAGUE
