It was a tough start to the game on Sat with AHC W4s starting the first half with 11 outfield players & no Goalie
The team did extraordinarily well, holding out until the 25th minute before a deflection from our own RHB Sue dodged past sweeping back Michelle to hit the back of the net and gave Thame their first goal
Just 5minutes later during a pinball-like defensive short corner where AHC just couldnt quite get the ball out of the D, a bobbly shot to the far-left corner post made its way past CB Ellie and Thame had their 2nd goal going into half-time
Goalie Karen arrived and was ready for the half-time talk and it was a different game in the 2nd half, AHC had complete control of the game making it challenging for Thame to get any solid chances in our defensive D
The work-rate was exceptional and our mids & forwards never gave up, pushing the Thame defence and had a number of great opportunities but just couldnt quite get the ball in the back of the net
It was definitely a game of two halves and even though the final score was 0-2 against us, the ladies were confident if they had of started the game in correct positions and with a GK the outcome would've been very different
A terrific effort from everyone and lots to learn from and allow us to work on this week at Training ready for next weekends match
