U10's 13.11.16

The U10's travelled to Newlands Park for their latest round of matches in what proved to be a brilliant team display, with every player making an impact on the games & working hard to help their teammates.

Team: Molly, Matthew, Harry, Emma, Chloe & Maggie.

Amersham & Chalfont
A slow start saw Aylesbury concede 2 early goals as A&C took their free hits quickly & Aylesbury slow to respond. However, everyone then settled into the game & Molly scored following great teamwork to make the score 2-1 at half time. The 2nd half was very even with both teams creating chances & defending well. Final score: A&C 2 Aylesbury 1.

Rickmansworth
Another great team performance resulting in 2 goals from Molly & 1 from Chloe for a 3-0 lead at half time. We had plenty of opportunities to add to the score line in both halves but Rickmansworth battled hard in defence. In the 2nd half Harry won the ball in defence & ran the length of the pitch with the ball, only to be stopped as he reached the opposite goal. Maggie was strong at the back & prevented Rickmansworth from getting any real scoring opportunities. In the final seconds of the game Matthew turned in the D to squeeze the ball into the goal. Final score: Rickmansworth 0 Aylesbury 4

St Albans
Having been disappointed by the lack of goal celebrations in the previous matches, the team agreed to 'Dab' after every goal from now on. With 5 goals from Molly, 1 from Matthew, a first ever goal for Emma & a team goal (an OG scored following brilliant team play & no-one was quite sure who got the final touch!) there was plenty of opportunity to practice in this game. Final score: St Albans 0 Aylesbury 8

This really was a great team performance. The team has started to gel really well, working hard as a team & supporting each other at all times. The team spirit was amazing & we definitely have the best goal celebration!!

Aylesbury U10s Team of William, Arthur, Kate, Anastasia and Sarah played this afternoon over at West Herts.

Match 1 v West Herts
Aylesbury's first match was against a strong looking West Herts team. Arthur and Will combined well from the pushback with some neat 1 to 1s to move Aylesbury up the pitch. Anastasia had some great touches in the midfield with some strong running off the ball too.The West Herts team were fast and skillful but Sarah and Kate kept the attackers at bay with strong tackles and close marking. Unfortunately the opposition's pressure told in the end and as the game went on West Herts scored a number of well made goals. Aylesbury did not give up however and everyone battled hard. Towards the end of the game some great passes from the defence to midfield left Arthur free in the D to slot home a great goal.

Match 2 v Amersham & Chalfont
The second match of the day was against Amersham & Chalfont. A slight change of formation worked well, with Kate moving upfront and Arthur dropping back into midfield. Aylesbury started the game well good interplay between Kate and Will to move up the pitch towards the D. Sarah kept the Amersham forwards away from the goal with some great interceptions and passing play to the midfield. Aylesbury's pressure started to tell, with Arthur scoring a well made goal. Anastasia then had a great effort which just missed the far post. Aylesbury kept up the pressure with Will driving into the D on numerous occasions and scoring 2 well taken goals.
